The Idea
Learn from a small comparison you can explain.
An experiment turns “I wonder” into a comparison. Choose a question, change one main variable and decide what evidence you will inspect. Film experiments are not laboratory proof: performances vary, viewers differ and conditions drift. Good notes make those limits useful instead of invisible.
Avoid designing a test whose only possible conclusion is that your favorite version wins. Define the intended effect before comparing. You might ask whether withholding a detail until the final frame makes an object transfer less immediately legible. The result may be mixed: more curiosity but less clarity. That tradeoff is learning. A failed hypothesis is valuable when it changes your next decision. Preserve the first version so you can distinguish memory from evidence.
